Melbourne-based Nina Ferro is a multi award-winning soul singer, songwriter, session and recording artist with a powerful, evocative voice, impressive vocal range and captivating stage presence, considered by her peers and audiences alike to be one of the top vocalists around. An Australian and British citizen of Italian parentage, Nina has built an international following of fans and is in high demand both locally and abroad. Nina has performed alongside artists such as Tony Bennett, Hugh Jackman, Jose Feliciano, Jessica Mauboy, Zac Brown Band, Renee Geyer, Gilbert O’Sullivan, Vanessa Amorosi, Jon Stevens, Guy Sebastian, Kate Ceberano, John Farnham, Kyle Eastwood, Billy Ocean, Ricky Martin, Chris Botti, Dave Sanborn, Frank McComb, Chick Corea, The Zac Brown Band, The Cat Empire, The Commitments and many, many more…..Nina has opened as the special guest artist for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Juanes and Grammy Award winning industry legends Gregory Porter, Charles Aznavour and Neil Sedaka. Not to mention wowing not only the judges but also Aussie audiences when she appeared on Season 5 of The Voice Australia (2016).
Nina has produced 8 solo albums throughout her career. Her most recent album release Into The Light, saw Nina venture down a new but familiar musical path, creating her most personal album to date. Whilst Nina started out as a Jazz singer (singing that other kind of "Americana", the American song book of Jazz!!), her music had become influenced more and more by her own passions and musical loves, those being Soul, old school R&B, Funk, Blues and Country which Nina brings into her songwriting. Nina along with her Producer Sam Hawksley, assumed co-writing duties with some of the industries top writers such as Gary Nicholson, Jerry Salley, Rachel Loy, Michael Heeney and Jedd Hughes, taking inspiration from her biggest musical influences such as Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Nancy Wilson, Stevie Wonder and Prince to name but a few. Into The Light, showcases not only an unforgettable vocalist, but also an accomplished and insightful songwriter. Written and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, Into the Light features 13 beautifully crafted original compositions infused with soul and awash with the signature Nashville sound.
